Steps to ISO 22000 Certifications in Kuwait

1. Learn about ISO 22000

It is very important to have the basic knowledge of the intent of ISO 22000 certifications. Unless you do not have the idea of what ISO 22000 is all about, it will be really difficult for you to handle the whole process.

2. Perform ISO 22000 Gap Analysis

Once you have studied about ISO 22000, you need to perform the GAP Analysis of the implementation of your quality system inline with ISO 22000 requirements.

3. Develop a ISO 22000 Project Plant

After the Gap analysis is done, you now have a set of work to be done by your team. Distribute the project to your team according to the departments they are into.

This will help your organization to fill the gaps analyzed during the GAP Analysis.

4. Train Employees for ISO 22000 Certifications

It is very important to get the formal training of the employees to get the basic knowledge of the standard. Few can get the Awareness training and the top management can get the internal auditor training as this is also the requirement to perform the internal audit and it can only be done by those who have gone through the internal auditor training process.

5. Document your system as per ISO 22000- Food Safety management system Standard.

Now when your team is trained as per ISO 22000 and the work for ISO 22000 is distributed to the team. Now is the time for the documentation of the whole ISO 22000 system at one place and mark them as master documents.

6. Implement the ISO 22000 Management system

One the ISO 22000 system has been documented, The ISO 22000 documented system needs to be implemented to make sure that the Quality Management System system is written is implied on the organizations management system.

7. Perform ISO 22000 Internal Audits

Once the ISO 22000 system has been implemented, there is a requirement to perform the internal audits as Per the requirements of ISO 22000 standard to identify if there are any gaps in the ISO 22000 documented system and the implemented system.

8. Prepare for the ISO 22000 registration/ Certification audit

Now when all the above steps are completed, the application for the ISO 22000 certification will be required to be filled for registration. Once the ISO 22000 registration is done, the auditor will come for the audit of the ISO system documented and implemented. Once they find all the system as per the requirements of ISO 22000 are in place, they shall recommend your system to be in compliance of the ISO 22000 standard and shall send your report to the accreditation board for review and issue of final ISO 22000 certificate.

9. Continually improve your ISO 22000 Food Safety management system.

There are frequent ISO 22000 surveillance audits also involved in the ISO 22000 certification. This frequency can be Six Monthly, Nine Monthly or yearly. The ISO 22000 system needs to be maintained to keep the records of the system being monitored and maintained as the whole system is liable to be verified during the ISO 22000 surveillance audits.
